Hi, my name is Raeleigh Walker, and I’m an artist originally from Truro, Nova Scotia. After graduating from Dalhousie University, I moved to Halifax in 2021 and now live in Beaver Bank.
I’m primarily self-taught and have been creating art for as long as I can remember. I worked in acrylic for many years before expanding into oil painting more recently.
I grew up surrounded by antiques and art. My dad was an antique dealer and art collector, so I spent a lot of time at shows and traveling around rural Nova Scotia during my childhood. Being around that from a young age shaped what I’m drawn to now and how I see the world around me.
I find most of my inspiration in Nova Scotian environments, landscapes, old houses, pathways, riverbanks, and places that feel a bit forgotten or left behind.
